Recover from stack underflow, overload, or E3002

Stop and disconnect

Do not repeatedly select a slot that reports stack underflow, bytecode overload, or bootloader E3002. Disconnect the Zen from the console and close the browser flasher.

Clear the bad program state

1. Reconnect the Zen to the official Zen Studio application through PROG USB.
2. Clear the affected slot and click Program Device. If the device cannot enter normal mode, disconnect every cable for at least ten seconds and retry.
3. If firmware is missing or corrupt, use the official updater to reinstall firmware, then confirm the detected version is at least 2.3.0 before using the Vera writer. The Cronus documentation baseline was 2.2.14 when this guide was verified, but that version is below Vera's current writer minimum.
4. Use a hard reset only after narrower recovery fails. It erases device settings and all memory slots.
5. Replug in normal mode and verify the device before adding any script.

Reinstall cleanly

Close official Studio, open the Vera installer in Chrome or Edge, select an empty slot, and install the current production release. Wait for completion, verify the version on the OLED, then test controller input on the console dashboard before entering the game.

A factory reset is the last recovery step, not the first. Most failures are fixed by clearing the affected slot or reinstalling current firmware.
