Getting started
Update Zen firmware to 2.3.1
Use official Zen Studio Live, enter bootloader correctly, and return to normal mode.
Current Zen Studio Live device features require firmware 2.3.1 or newer. Firmware and Vera scripts are different: firmware runs the device; a script fills one program slot.
Normal update
- Close verascripts.com and any other tab connected to the Zen.
- Connect the Zen to the computer with the port used by the official firmware updater.
- Open the current official Zen Studio Live and choose the firmware update tool.
- Select the current stable firmware, start the update, and do not disconnect power.
- When it finishes, unplug and reconnect the Zen in normal mode.
If the updater asks for bootloader mode
Disconnect the Zen, hold the required blue hardware button while reconnecting the firmware cable, and release only after the updater detects bootloader mode. Finish the update, then replug normally before using the Vera flasher.
After the update
Open the Vera flasher, connect through the right-side programming port, and confirm it reports the new firmware. Existing scripts may remain, but reinstalling the latest production build is the cleanest validation after a major firmware change.
