Choose, clear, and manage Zen slots
How the eight Cronus Zen memory slots work: install into an empty slot, switch the active slot with the blue button, replace a script, and avoid a hard reset.
Use an empty slot
Cronus Zen has eight 32 KB memory slots. The Vera production installer selects an empty target slot to protect unrelated content. If all slots are occupied, open official Zen Studio, clear the one you no longer need, click Program Device, close Studio, then return to the Vera installer.
Changing the active slot
The blue slot button cycles the active program slot. The browser installer writes and verifies an empty slot but cannot activate it. After install, select the reported slot and stop when the OLED shows the script you want to use.
Replacing a script
- Clear the old slot in official Zen Studio and click Program Device.
- Close Studio completely.
- Open verascripts.com, connect through the programming port, and install the current build into that empty slot.
- Confirm the new version label on the OLED.
Do not hold both large blue buttons during a normal slot change. That performs a destructive hard reset which returns settings and memory slots to the out-of-box state.
