NBA 2K27 Cronus Zen Script: Fadeaway

Fadeaway is the NBA 2K27 script VeraScripts builds and maintains itself. It is a one-time purchase for the whole 2K27 year, it installs to a Cronus Zen from your browser in about a minute, and the current build is 2.5, published 30 September 2026. It shapes what your controller sends. It does not read the game, see the shot meter, or guarantee a green.

That last sentence is not marketing caution. It is the wording in the 2.3 release record: "The script records your hold; it cannot see a green or guarantee one."

The facts

Price $50 until Sep 30, $64.99 from Oct 1, paid once. That covers the 2K27 year: the script, every update, support, the guides and the Discord. No subscription, because subscriptions are not offered to new customers. NBA 2K28 will be a separate script.
Also included in Vera+, $99 until Sep 30, $129 from Oct 1, one time, which unlocks every current and future VeraScripts product.
Platforms PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, all through a Cronus Zen.
Hardware required A Cronus Zen. Not included, not sold by VeraScripts, and not a VeraScripts product.
What it actually does It sits at the controller-input layer and re-shapes shot inputs. You pick, per input, whether the script times the release for you (Auto Green on the shot button) or you time it yourself with a shaped release (Rhythm). Build 2.3 added Learn: you manually time Stand, Off Dribble, Left Fade, Right Fade and Go-To, confirm a green, and it saves to the active Build. You can bind a dribble, a stop-only Quick Stop, a Go-To or a Next Stand to each D-pad direction.
What it does not do It does not read game memory, see the screen, see the shot meter, or turn the meter off. It cannot detect whether a shot was green.
Current version Fadeaway 2.5, published 30 September 2026. Zen slot label FADEAWAY 2.5.gpc. Built with the official Cronus compiler 1.0.24, target cronuszen32; that build reported zero diagnostics. Builds 2.4 BETA and 2.3 stay available in the version picker as fallbacks.
Cronus Zen firmware Firmware 2.3.0 or newer. Builds 2.3.0 and 2.3.1 are the versions the shipped release records explicitly validate. Firmware 2.2.14, the version currently named in Cronus' own quick-start docs, is below the VeraScripts writer minimum and will not flash.
Install method Browser. Sign in with the Discord account on the purchase, connect the Zen's right-side PROG port in desktop Chrome or Edge, pick an empty slot, flash. No Zen Studio, no .gpc file to download, nothing installed on your PC.
Update policy Updates are not automatic. When a new build ships, re-flash from the site; your tuning carries over. Every approved build stays selectable, so you can roll back.
Menu CREATE + OPTIONS on PS5, SHARE + OPTIONS on PS4, VIEW + MENU on Xbox.
Who makes it VeraScripts LLC, a Kentucky company. VeraScripts builds Fadeaway in-house; it is not a renamed reseller script.

Version history

Every entry below comes from the same validated release registry the flasher uses. Fifteen dated builds exist on the 2K27 line; 1.1 through 1.4 were withdrawn, so the eleven still published are the eleven below. Note that the numbering restarted for 2K27, so Fadeaway 4.2 is an older NBA 2K26 build, not a newer one.

Build Date What changed
2.5 (current) 30 Sep 2026 Helpers > Shot Humanize now offers LOW, MED and HIGH shooting variation for Auto Green, Rhythm and Go-To (HIGH matches the previous default); saved Builds and timing settings load unchanged.
2.4 BETA 28 Sep 2026 Revised Auto Green variation, Rhythm gestures, dribble sequences, Quick Stop recovery and stamina transitions.
2.3 21 Sep 2026 Guided Learn under Settings: manually time Stand, Off Dribble, Left Fade, Right Fade and Go-To, confirm a green, saved to the active Build. D-pad Up confirms, Down retries, Right skips, Left exits. Shooting reduced to button Auto Green and player-timed Rhythm; automatic tempo modes and tempo-ms dials removed. GLOBAL renamed Online; MOVE renamed Off Dribble. Actions: bind a dribble, stop-only Quick Stop, Go-To or Next Stand per D-pad direction; improved Dunk Meter input handling and Go-To release and re-arming. Three timing Builds, Quick Tune, Reset Build, Reset Defaults. HUMANIZE retained. No Dip is Rhythm-only. Simplified shot display, event-driven menu updates, checked background saving. 72 software groups passed; the compiler reported no diagnostics.
2.2 2 Sep 2026 Menu repaints only when something changes, so scrolling is instant. L RUN FADE shows its real number. Quick taps held 40 ms instead of one 10 ms report, so the game cannot miss a steal or pump fake. Idle screen repaints wait for a quiet controller, so a screen redraw never lands on a live input. BUTTON REMAP replaced AI BUTTON TEMPO. Turbo Shots, Quick-Stop and RS Shooting removed.
2.1 1 Sep 2026 Four shot modes per input for both the stick and the button, defaulting to NATIVE/OFF so a fresh install does not touch shot inputs. All release detection debounced 20 ms. Menus and readouts switched to real milliseconds.
2.0 BETA 29 Aug 2026 Public beta of the new engine: every jumper and fade fires the game's own button, auto-timed, with no stick gestures. RT held plus left-stick direction picks the right or left run fade.
1.9 29 Aug 2026 Smooth run fades. R3 STYLE added. Auto-green with RT held fires a real running fade. Catch-and-shoot fix for R3 clicks arriving during a pass or call-for-ball.
1.8 29 Aug 2026 Meter fills smoothly: the stick travels like a thumb instead of jumping, removing jitter on script shots. Timing unchanged, no re-tuning needed.
1.7 28 Aug 2026 Auto Green on the shot button, working standing still, on the move and on L1/R1 binds. Auto Go To no longer fires while running up court.
1.6 28 Aug 2026 Route timing tunable from -1500 to +1500 ms in 1 ms steps. Moving-shot default retuned to an 800 ms centre.
1.5 28 Aug 2026 L2 quick tune guarded so post-ups, play calls and defensive stance can no longer change values during live play.

Installing it, the short version

  1. Buy Fadeaway, or Vera+, and sign in at verascripts.com with the Discord account on the purchase.
  2. Put the Zen on firmware 2.3.0 or newer using Cronus' own web update tool. Firmware uses the CONSOLE/PC port, not the programming port. See Update Cronus Zen firmware.
  3. Close Zen Studio and any other tab connected to the Zen. Only one program can hold the device.
  4. In desktop Chrome or Edge, connect the Zen's right-side PROG port with a data-capable cable. A charge-only cable powers the Zen but the browser will not see it.
  5. Open Flash, choose Fadeaway, click Connect and pick the Zen in the browser device picker.
  6. Review the empty slot the installer picked, because it does not always write slot one, and install. Do not unplug until the site says it completed.
  7. Check the OLED reads FADEAWAY 2.5.gpc, move the Zen to the console, and prove the controller works on the console dashboard before opening 2K.

Honest limits and risks

Read this before you buy.

  • No script is ban-proof, and VeraScripts does not claim otherwise. VeraScripts does not sell non-detection and does not publish workarounds for any platform control. Anyone telling you a 2K script is undetectable is selling you something they cannot deliver.
  • 2K's published rules cover this. The 2K Code of Conduct at 2k.com says: "Don't cheat, collude, hack, phish, steal, use unauthorized mods or any other means to gain an unfair advantage or outcome", and "Don't attempt to manipulate any aspect of our games through inauthentic means, such as ... misusing third party software or hardware." The NBA 2K Player Code of Conduct separately lists "Hacking or attempting to hack NBA 2K in any form or fashion" and "Using 'mods' or other software to gain an unfair advantage" as prohibited. 2K states that violations can lead to anything from a warning to an account ban. Those are 2K's terms, not VeraScripts' terms; read them and decide for yourself.
  • No affiliation with 2K, Take-Two, Sony, Microsoft, or Collective Minds / Cronus. Independent controller-input software. Not affiliated with or approved by any game or platform publisher. Use may violate individual game or platform rules and may result in account or hardware sanctions. No guarantee of compatibility, performance, or non-detection. Not permitted for tournaments, wagering, ban evasion, or bypassing technical controls.
  • A game patch can change shot timing. When 2K changes timing, tuned numbers can stop matching. That is why the script exposes tuning and why VeraScripts ships dated builds instead of promising a permanent setting.
  • It cannot confirm a green. The script records your hold. It has no way to read the meter or the result.
  • Results vary. Build, jumper, display, connection and your own timing all move the outcome. VeraScripts publishes no performance figures because there is no test it would stand behind publicly.

Who publishes this page

VeraScripts LLC builds and sells Fadeaway. This page recommends a VeraScripts product and VeraScripts makes money if you buy it; there is no independent review here and it does not pretend there is. Corrections are made on the page with a dated note. VeraScripts publishes no ratings, no star averages and no test results, because it has none it can show you.

Frequently asked questions

How do I open the Fadeaway menu?

CREATE plus OPTIONS on PS5, SHARE plus OPTIONS on PS4, VIEW plus MENU on Xbox. Close it with the same combo so the on-close save path runs. If it will not open, check the right Zen slot is active and that the controller works natively first.

Does the Fadeaway script update itself?

No. Updates are not automatic. Re-flash from verascripts.com after each release; your settings carry over.

Which Cronus Zen firmware does Fadeaway need?

Firmware 2.3.0 or newer. The VeraScripts release records validate 2.3.0 and 2.3.1. Cronus' own quick-start guide currently names 2.2.14 with Zen Studio 1.6.1 Build 82, which is the official device baseline and is below the VeraScripts writer minimum. Keep the two version numbers separate in your head.

Why did the installer not use slot one?

By design. The Cronus Zen has eight 32 KB slots and the installer takes an empty one. If all eight are full, delete one in official Zen Studio, then close Zen Studio before reconnecting to the VeraScripts flasher.

The browser cannot see my Zen. What is wrong?

Almost always one of: the wrong port (use the right-side PROG port for flashing), a charge-only cable, Zen Studio still holding the device, an unpowered hub, or a browser that is not desktop Chrome or Edge. Safari, Firefox and phone browsers are not the supported path.

It installed but nothing happens in game.

Test in order: the install completed and the OLED shows the expected version; every button and both sticks work on the console dashboard; the in-game settings match. Do not tune values until the first two pass.

Can Fadeaway guarantee a green release?

No. The script records your hold at the controller-input layer. It cannot see the shot meter, read game memory, or confirm that a shot was green.

Do I have to pay again for NBA 2K28?

For 2K27, no. The one-time price covers the 2K27 year including every update and support. NBA 2K28 will be a separate script. Every one-time purchase keeps permanent access to the product it bought.

Can I go back to an older build?

Yes. Approved earlier releases stay selectable in the flasher, and 2.4 BETA and 2.3 remain available as fallbacks to 2.5.
