Ascend patch notes and update history (Apex Legends)

Every public Ascend build for Apex Legends, newest first, with the notes that shipped with it. Updates are free and install from the browser in about a minute. This page is generated from the same release registry the installer uses, so it is always current.

Ascend V3.0 (2026-09-30)

Ascend V3.0: a new aim and recoil engine with per-gun recoil, gun detection, hotkeys and a recoil tuner, inside the Vera menu. Ascend 2.2 stays selectable.

  • New aim and recoil engine: per-gun anti-recoil, gun detection on PS5, Weapon Select, Hotkeys and a Recoil Tuner.
  • The menu opens with Create + Options (View + Menu) pressed together.
  • Settings start fresh once. Ascend 2.2, with its extra features, is still in the version list.
  • Re-flash to update.

Ascend V2.2 (2026-09-29)

Ascend V2.2 brings the new Vera look and the standard Vera menu buttons: the VERA logo spin at start, a clean idle screen and Fadeaway's menu layout. Gameplay and your settings are the same as 2.1.

  • New Vera look: the VERA logo spins when the script starts, the same as Fadeaway, then VERA / ASCEND / V2.2 with the menu buttons at the bottom.
  • New menu buttons: D-pad Left/Right picks a category, Cross/A opens it, Up/Down changes the value, Circle/B goes back or saves and closes. Holding L2/LT to change values is gone.
  • Open or close the menu with Create + Options (View + Menu on Xbox), as before.
  • Gun, barrel, sight, kill switch and saved messages show for 2 seconds, then the Ascend screen comes back. The screen no longer goes black.
  • Clearer names in capitals, like QUICK GUN 1 and 2, AIM ASSIST and BOOST ON FIRE, and a buzz on every menu change.
  • Gameplay and your settings are exactly the same as 2.1.

Ascend V2.1 (2026-09-29)

Ascend V2.1 makes anti-recoil work straight after a restart, stops the down-pull after a gun's pattern ends, gives the secondary its own aim-assist type, keeps settings you set to 0 and fixes Rampart's Sheila chord. Same menus as V2.0.

  • Anti-recoil now works straight after a restart: your saved guns, barrels and sights are live at power-up. 2.0 kept anti-recoil off until you re-picked a gun with ADS + D-pad.
  • No more down-pull after a gun's recoil pattern ends. 2.0 kept dragging the aim down for as long as fire was held after the last bullet of the pattern (reloads, rapid-fire pistols, Wingman).
  • The secondary uses its own aim-assist Type (2.0 always ran the primary's), and Per Gun only changes the slot you set to Per Gun.
  • Settings you set to 0 stay 0 after a restart. In 2.0, 40 settings came back as defaults (Direction, Boost on Fire, Invert Boost and Tracking came back On). Your 2.0 settings load unchanged.
  • Rampart: Sheila is recognised on your layout's Ping + Tactical. 2.0 used Ping + Jump on the Default layout, so jump-shooting switched you to Sheila's pattern.
  • Auto+ and AI gun detection decide once per spray and never flip slots on a tie; AI follows weapon swaps and only names a gun when exactly one gun fits.
  • Recoil Lab edits apply only to the gun you are editing, and the Time row works. Share + Options opens the Vera menu without also opening the game menu.
  • Faster and lighter: menu ticks cost 59% less, and the script uses 755 of the Zen's 1,020 memory slots instead of 968.

Ascend V2.0 (2026-08-19)

Ascend V2.0, the previous Apex build, kept in the picker as a fallback.

  • Added Nemesis to the recoil roster and AI rumble-signature weapon detection.
  • Weapon, barrel and sight selections are saved across restarts, and movement helpers default On for fresh installs.

How to update

Plug the Zen into a PC with the USB cable, open the Ascend page, and install the current build from the browser. Nothing is downloaded to the PC and your saved profiles carry over between builds. If the device is not detected, the setup guides cover cables, ports and firmware. Help is in the Discord.

How this page is built

Every entry above comes from the release registry that the installer itself reads, so a build appears here the moment it is available to install and never before. Dates are the day the build went live. Version numbers match the label the Zen shows after an install. When Apex Legends patches, the next build lands here with its notes on the same day it ships, which is the fastest way to confirm that Ascend has been rebuilt for the current patch.
