Fadeaway 2.2 tunes timing assist per shot type: standing, moving, and the two running fades. That tuning is done offline, where the numbers behave the same way every time. Online is a different environment, and Fadeaway handles it with one value called GLOBAL. This page explains what GLOBAL does, how to move it between games, and what people get wrong with it.
Why online behaves differently
Offline, your press goes from the controller to the console and into the game. Online, the same press has to reach a server that is also processing everyone else on the floor, then come back. That round trip adds delay on top of your local input path.
Two things follow from that. First, a value that feels correct offline will usually land early online, because the game is acting on your input later than you pressed it. Second, the amount of delay is not fixed. Your connection, the server you land on, and the time of day all move it, so the correct online number is a moving target rather than a permanent setting.
This is why Fadeaway separates the two. Your offline tuning stays clean, and online gets a single number you can nudge.
What GLOBAL actually does
GLOBAL is one setting for online play. Move it, and every shot type moves with it by the same amount, in the same direction. You do not open each shot type and edit it individually.
That matters for two reasons:
- Your per type tuning is preserved. Standing, moving, and the two run fades keep their relationship to each other. If moving sat 13 ms later than standing before, it still does after you change GLOBAL.
- Your offline setup never gets damaged. Because you only touched GLOBAL, nothing about your offline work has to be reverted when you leave online play.
The timing menu in Fadeaway shows real milliseconds, not a vague slider. You can see the exact number you are on, which is what makes small, repeatable adjustments possible.
The defaults you start from
These are the Fadeaway 2.2 defaults for the 2K27 build.
| Setting | Default |
|---|---|
| GLOBAL timing assist | 550 ms |
| Standing shots | 600 ms |
| Moving shots | 613 ms |
| Run fade, right | 885 ms |
| Run fade, left | 759 ms |
| Auto Go To hold | 2250 ms |
Moving shots are detected automatically, so you are not switching modes mid possession. The running fades are locked, which keeps left and right from drifting apart while you adjust.
Here is how a single GLOBAL change propagates. If you raise GLOBAL by 10 ms, every type shifts 10 ms later together.
| Shot type | Before | After a 10 ms raise |
|---|---|---|
| Standing | 600 ms | 610 ms |
| Moving | 613 ms | 623 ms |
| Run fade, right | 885 ms | 895 ms |
| Run fade, left | 759 ms | 769 ms |
One edit, four values moved, the spacing between them untouched.
How to adjust GLOBAL between games
The quick tune is built to be used in seconds, not in a settings menu deep dive.
- Take a shot and watch what happens.
- Stand still. No movement, no handles.
- Hold L2 and tap the dpad to move the value.
- Read the millisecond number in the timing menu to confirm where you landed.
- Play a few possessions, then repeat if needed.
The direction rule is short:
| What you see | What to do with GLOBAL |
|---|---|
| It fires earlier than you want | Raise it |
| It fires later than you want | Lower it |
| It feels inconsistent shot to shot | Leave it alone and check again next session |
That last row is the one people skip. If the result is early on one possession and late on the next, the variable is your connection that session, not your setting. Chasing it with edits will leave you further from a good number than when you started.
Make small moves. A few milliseconds at a time gives you something you can actually read. Large jumps make every shot feel wrong and remove your reference point.
Common mistakes
Editing per type values for online. This is the main one. If you fix an online feel by changing the standing value, you have also changed your offline setup, and you now have to remember to undo it. GLOBAL exists so that never happens.
Changing two things at once. If you move GLOBAL and a per type value in the same session, you cannot tell which change produced the result. One variable at a time.
Tuning while on the move. The quick tune expects you to stand still while you hold L2 and tap the dpad. Trying to adjust while moving gives you a reading you cannot trust.
Expecting one permanent number. There is no single GLOBAL value that is correct for every server and every session. Treat it as a between games dial, which is exactly how it is designed.
Re-flashing to fix a feel. Fadeaway uses checksummed settings, so your values persist. If something feels off, adjust GLOBAL first. Reinstalling does not change how the network behaves.
Ignoring the humanize and conflict-safe helpers. They exist so the assist does not fight your own inputs. Leaving them configured sensibly usually removes the "it feels random" complaint before you touch GLOBAL at all.
How this fits the rest of the menu
Fadeaway 2.2 is organised into four menu categories, with Button Remap and BTN MODE for how you trigger things, Auto Go To on its own hold value, and the timing section where GLOBAL and the per type numbers live. Install is a static build, so you flash it once and tune from the controller after that. The build was last updated 09.02.26.

Frequently asked questions
What does the GLOBAL setting do in Fadeaway?
GLOBAL is the one value you change for online play in NBA 2K27. Moving it shifts every shot type by the same amount in the same direction, so standing, moving, and both running fades stay in the same relationship to each other. Your per type offline tuning is left untouched, which means nothing needs reverting when you go back offline.
Should I raise or lower GLOBAL?
Raise it if the assist is firing earlier than you want, and lower it if it is firing later. Move a few milliseconds at a time so you can actually read the result. If the behaviour is inconsistent from one possession to the next, that is usually connection variance for that session, so leave the value alone and check again next time.
What are the default timing values in Fadeaway 2.2?
GLOBAL timing assist starts at 550 ms. Standing shots sit at 600 ms, moving shots at 613 ms, run fades default to 885 right and 759 left, and Auto Go To holds for 2250 ms. The timing menu displays these as real milliseconds so you always know exactly where you are.
How do I change GLOBAL without leaving the game?
Take a shot, stand still, then hold L2 and tap the dpad to move the value. Confirm the new number in the timing menu, play a few possessions, and repeat if needed. Stand still while you do it, because the quick tune expects a stationary input.
Do I need to re-tune GLOBAL every session?
Often yes, by a small amount. Online delay depends on your connection and the server you land on, so there is no single permanent value. That is why it is a one value dial you nudge between games rather than a setting you configure once and forget.
Will my settings survive a 2K update or a console restart?
Fadeaway uses checksummed settings, so your values persist rather than resetting. If the feel changes, adjust GLOBAL first. Reinstalling the script does not change network behaviour, so it is not the fix for an online timing feel.
