PS5 controller authentication with Zen LINK

Use the current native PS5 path and separate controller authentication from script setup.

5 min read

Installing a script does not configure PS5 controller authentication. The current official native PS5 path requires the Zen LINK Wi-Fi Expansion Module. Cronus now lists the older no-Zen-LINK bypass as unsupported. Follow the official Zen LINK setup before tuning a Vera script.

Use this order

  1. Disconnect the Zen from the computer.
  2. Connect it to the PS5 using the console/gaming port.
  3. Connect Zen LINK to A1 and the DualSense controller to A3 for the documented wired setup.
  4. Set the PS5 controller Communication Method to Use USB Cable and complete the current Zen LINK console configuration.
  5. Prove every dashboard button and both sticks work before opening a game.

How to tell what is wrong

For DualSense Edge, the official guide requires the right-stick sensitivity curve at Default, curve adjustment 0, and deadzone adjustment 0%. Do not factory reset the Zen just because PS5 authentication failed; first recheck the documented Zen LINK path, console settings, ports, and cables.
